If you’re visiting Airlie Beach, the Whitsunday Airlie Beach Markets is something you do not want to miss out on – check out our guide so you can plan a smooth and memorable experience at the Saturday markets.

When is it?

The Whitsunday Airlie Beach Markets are held every Saturday from 7am to 1pm. The streets are graced with amazing stalls that sell local and fresh produce, arts and crafts, souvenirs and delicious handmade food and treats.

Usually, there is only one market every Saturday – except when cruise ships come to Airlie Beach. A variety of stalls set up shop to welcome cruise shippers and let them experience all the goodies and the friendly community environment.

Where are the markets located?

Conveniently located on the foreshore of the Airlie Esplanade and close to the Airlie Beach Hotel on the end of the main street, the Whitsunday Airlie Beach Markets invite any passersby in.

After popping into the markets for coffee, yummy treats, or souvenirs, continue walking along the Esplanade to see more of what Airlie Beach offers, like the Bicentennial Walk.

If you plan to drive, there is free parking near the markets if you get there early enough. If you miss out on the limited free parking spots, Airlie Beach Foreshore car park on Coconut Grove and the Whitsundays Sailing Club Council car park are both convenient parking options. Both of these options are paid parking, so make sure to pay to avoid a nasty fine!

Unmissable stalls

Some market stall owners have been sharing their products and produce at the markets every Saturday for the last 20 years. With that said, some stalls can vary, so you will come across a range of unique stalls every time you visit. You can always count on the following unmissable stalls to be there:

  • Jewellery: Locally handmade jewellery stores feature Australian stones that are truly special to the region of Airlie Beach – perfect for a gift or souvenir from your trip.
  • Tea and coffee: The irresistible smell of fresh coffee will be enticing enough to convince you to start your market tour with a delicious cup of coffee or tea.
  • Fishing gear: With quality fishing gear from the markets, catch a Coral Trout or Mangrove Jack at one of Airlie Beach’s many fishing spots.
  • Plants and plant seedlings: Take a plant or some plant seedlings to take home and grow as a symbolic keepsake of your trip to Airlie Beach.
