Due to Airlie Beach being located in the tropics we can occasionally experience inclement weather. Our wet season is usually anywhere from December to May and we highly recommend you purchase Travel Insurance which would cover for such things as road closures, flight, bus, or tour cancellations.

Our tours offer adventure sailing and we do not cancel due to rain, clouds or strong winds. The Whitsundays is deemed partially smooth waters and tours will only be cancelled if the Regional Harbour Master closes the area, or if the operator or Skipper of the boat deems the weather to be unsafe. The safety of our guests and our Crew are our highest priority and our vessel Operators or Crew reserve the right to vary itineraries for safety and passenger comfort.

Clients should note that adventure travel involves risk. Whilst we make every effort to safeguard guests, we cannot be responsible for any damage, personal injury or loss due to the actions of passengers that are beyond our control. At certain times of year ‘dangerous’ jellyfish inhabit these waters and passengers should take care for their own safety. Passengers entering the water do so at their own risk and the owners or operators of the vessel will not be liable for any personal injury, illness, death, or any other consequences whatsoever of passengers being stung by jellyfish. To minimise this risk, you will be provided with a full length protective ‘Stinger Suit’ to wear whilst swimming and snorkelling during the cruise. Whitsundays Sailing Adventures.com and its related bodies corporate, its officers, employees and agents are not the owner or operator of any vessel on which any passengers sail.

Accordingly, it shall not be liable for any loss or damage whatsoever which is suffered (including but not limited to indirect or consequential loss) or for any injury to person or property which is suffered or sustained by any passenger as a result of participating in any of its sailing adventures, except for any liability which cannot be excluded by law.

Accessibility

While our aim is to be as inclusive as possible, certain requirements may be limited due to the design of the vessels. To ensure a comfortable and safe journey for all passengers, including those requiring assistance such as families with children under twelve, elderly individuals, passengers needing mobility support, or those with specific medical conditions, it is important to contact Whitsunday Sailing Adventures before booking a tour. This allows for discussion of accessibility needs and approval from the operator to make necessary arrangements for a safe and comfortable experience.

Failure to communicate accessibility requirements to Whitsunday Sailing Adventures before the 14-day cancellation window may result in cancellation if the needs cannot be accommodated.

To meet our minimum safety standards, passengers must be able to exit the vessel unassisted in an emergency. This includes the ability to use a 1.5-metre ladder without assistance, either into the tender vessel or the saloon area, depending on the chosen vessel. Please note that, unfortunately, none of our vessels are wheelchair accessible. If you have any concerns regarding these requirements, we recommend speaking with our Reservations team before booking to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience.
