We loved our 3 day- 3 night trip on the Whitsunday Getaway. It a well equipped cat with 4 double cabins each with their own en suites, and lots of deck space. The skipper Matt was great and very well informed and good to chat to, and Jen our hosty did a great job catering for my husbands dietary needs.
The trip exceeded our expecations on every measure and was great fun and great value for money.
Our foreward cabin had a bed that narrowed at the end but was big enough (my husband is 6ft) and with lots of storage space (we had 2 70L soft bags and 2 rucksacks) - including a large wardrobe with hangers. There are 2 small portholes and a top window so plenty of ventitaltion and great head height.Our en suiite bathroom was large for a yacht (we could both get in it at the same time!) and a good shower head with hot water. Bathroom and beach towels are provided.
Food was great and plentiful - there is even a BBQ on the back of the yacht. There are cool boxes to keep drinks cold (BYO).
There is an infallible for shore trips and a sea kayak and all snorkelling equipment including wet suits and stinger suits are provided. We did 1-3 snorkel stops a day (Blue peral bay and lunchen bay particularly good), with sailing of 1-3 hours at a time. We had shore walks at Whitehaven beach and also to an aboriginal cave site. Matt was happy to do all the sailing or show us the ropes.
There is an indoor air conditioned seating area large enough for all 8 guests and also an 8-person table under a shady canopy outside. There is room to sit in the sun - including on the very spacious front nets (be prepared to get wet!). We were joined by dolphins on the bow as we sailed and were lucky to see a very large Loggerhead turtle at close quarters. As well as great coral and a stunning array of fish, we saw small sharks and rays.
Our co-guests were a mixture of ages and nationalities (21-55, French, German, English) but we all got on well and it was easy to chat and mix, or have some me time.
This is an excellent value for money trip that we'd love to do again - highly reccomended.

We had the most wonderful time with Captain Matt & Hostest Katie, and the other 3 couples on our fantastic adventure. This adventure greatly exceeded not only our expectations, but also our hopes. Matt & Katie are the best. The Getaways boat was very comfortable and the food better than we had hoped for. We have recommended this adventure to many friends & our family.
